Mustard Seed Jersey Prayer update July 2024

Dear Friends

Thank you for praying - please continue to bless Mustard Seed Jersey and those we work with overseas with your prayers. We really believe prayer makes a huge difference.

Lets update you, following on from our last prayer update:

As planned Alex from Romania and Tudor from Ukraine came to Jersey in March. They were thrilled at how many needs were met, especially funding for a larger trailer for Tudor meaning he could take more needed items to those in need in various parts of Ukraine. Thanks be to God for people’s generosity.

Last month ( June) we sent an aid consignment (10 tonnes) to Ukraine. We have been encouraged to learn the goods from Jersey have been distributed across Ukraine.

🙏 We ask that you remember Ukraine in your prayers - some prayer pointers:

• TUDOR is based in southern Ukraine near the Romanian border, he volunteers to distribute aid regularly to other parts of Ukraine. Pray for his safety traveling to help especially in war torn areas.
• SORIN a Ukrainian pastor near the Romanian border who heads up the aid distribution charity we work with and also supports many displaced Ukrainians. Pray for him for wisdom.
• PEACE for Ukraine.

In Romania we continue to work with ALEX & NELU and their respective charities.

• The AVS trust reaches out to those in great poverty and has recently offered a camp for children who have experienced bereavement. Mustard Seed helped to fund it and we understand it was a great success and life changing for many of the 45 children and young people who attended.
• Pray God gives NELU and his wife CRISTINA wisdom to best use the resources and time they have available.
• Alex of MSR has been our link person helping with arrangements to get the relief aid consignments to Ukraine. He is also involved in supporting Ukrainian refugees who are in Romania as well as reaching out to Romanians in need in his area. Pray God gives ALEX wisdom and the time and people resources he needs to continue and grow the work he is doing. Give thanks for Alex’s family and their incredible support.

Locally here in Jersey:

• As the Christmas shoebox appeal time approaches please pray islanders will be generous in reaching out to support those less fortunate than ourselves, whether through Mustard Seed or other channels.
• Pray too for the provision of extra volunteers as we need them.
• Our plans are that in November and December we will send 2 aid consignments, both containing Christmas shoeboxes along with general aid. The first will go to Romania and the second to Ukraine. To have 2 aid consignments at the same time like that is a logistical challenge for us so please remember us here in Jersey in your prayers. Please pray God strengthens our hands (Nehemiah 6 v 9) and that the joy of the Lord will strengthen and energize us (Nehemiah 8 v 10).
