Mustard Seed Jersey Prayer Update
September and October 2018
September 21st
2018
LOADING
TRAILERS: This coming week (24th
– 27th) we will be loading the packed boxes, bags etc onto trailers
ready for shipment to St Malo on 29th then on to Romania, God
willing, arriving the following week.
Because
we experienced some major logistical problems last time we are especially
concerned that all goes smoothly and ask for your prayers.
*
Give
thanks for the willing volunteers and pray God’s blessing on each one and then
pray the onward journey with a Romanian haulier goes well.
*
Also please pray Alex in Romania is successful in
fulfilling all the requirements for paperwork regarding registering the aid
consignment in Romania.
CHRISTMAS
SHOEBOXES: We are also getting ready for
the Christmas shoebox appeal and again ask for your prayers that all will go
smoothly.
We
give thanks for premises for the appeal kindly made available by the National
Trust of Jersey.
Again we ask for your prayers for Alex in Romania as he
commences the lengthy process of registering the planned donation months in
advance.
LOOKING
AHEAD: With Brexit looming, we ask for
prayers for clarity and wisdom as nobody knows just how this will affect the
sending of humanitarian aid to Romania from a source outside the EU.
I have had no specific requests
from Romania to share for your prayers. But as the weather starts to get
colder, it is inevitable there is anxiety among those we assist, so please
remember them in your prayers, that there will be sufficient to meet needs.
We remember the challenging words
of Jesus (in Matthew 25):
“For I
was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me
nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed
clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not
look after me.”
They
will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or
needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
He
will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of
these, you did not do for me.’
In His service
Rose
