MUSTARD SEED
JERSEY PRAYER UPDATE DECEMBER 4th 2016
CHRISTMAS SHOEBOXES – as we prayed at
my church this morning, we ask you to join us in prayer that each shoebox from
Jersey will meet a need, make a difference for good and bring real joy and
help. Our shoebox numbers are increased this year to 3127.
We give thanks for all the VOLUNTEERS and
their faithfulness which is a huge blessing. Amazingly all the various
logistical problems during the shoebox appeal have worked out with some new
volunteers getting involved.
On Friday Dec 9th, a team
of 16 from BEAULIEU CONVENT SCHOOL fly to Romania for 5 days to distribute
shoeboxes, spend some of the money they have raised on buying food parcels,
also distribute blankets, bread etc. Pray for each student and teacher that
this will be a good positive though undoubtedly challenging (potentially
life-changing) experience.
I (Rose) am due to be in Romania 9th
– 18th. Please pray God gives me WISDOM and COMPASSION to know the
best use of limited resources. Inevitably if we had raised 10 even 20 times the
money we have available there would be worthy needs we could meet.
VOLUNTEERS’ HEALTH – various of our volunteers and supporters have had different
health issues recently, now sadly 2 are unable to come to Romania. Please
remember them in prayer.
GIVE THANKS FOR FAVOUR – we thank God
for the tremendous help Mustard Seed Jersey receives with reduction in
transport costs especially from Condor and Ferryspeed
and ask God’s blessing on those businesses. We pray
too for Calin a Romanian haulier who helps us each
time.
ROMANIA
POINTERS FOR PRAYERS:
MSR
(Mustard Seed Romania): Pray for successful rehabilitation for ALEX STROIE
following his accident. Pray for wisdom for SERGIO and for SMOOTH RUNNING OF
ALL ARRANGEMENTS for unloading (scheduled for Thursday 8th),
transport for the Beaulieu groups (Dec 9th–12th),
arrangements for shoebox distribution, etc.
AVS
(Asociata Vieti Schimbate means association of changed lives): We thank God
for the money that has been given for the bread distribution, which means it
can be started this month though on a reduced scale to last year, as there are
less funds available. Pray NELU will have wisdom to know how to prioritise the
money he receives to benefit the poorest of the poor.
KATHY
LANGSTON: pray for Kathy for wisdom as she administers resources to benefit
children with learning difficulties. Pray for Kathy and her parents for good
health.
In
his letter to the Thessalonians St Paul encouraged people to pray without ceasing. Can I ask for your faithful prayers for Mustard
Seed and our Romanian beneficiaries especially during the time when people from
Jersey are in Romania with the charity.
Yours in
Christ
Rose Helie
